In addition, there will be a number of great raffle prizes that night including chances to win tickets to sporting events (Yankees, Red Sox, Giants), weekend getaways, birthday party packages, and much, much more.

Be sure to get your tickets as soon as possible and we look forward to seeing you all on Saturday, April 30th to Celebrate Will Power!

Thank You South High Marathon Dancers

The Brave Will Foundation would like to express its deepest gratitude to the amazing student body at South Glens Falls High School. The foundation was honored to be named a recipient at the annual marathon dance this year. We thank you for your efforts in helping us make a difference in the lives of children in this area who are facing the biggest challenge of their lives. Your dedication and perseverance this weekend is symbolic of  the goals and mission of our foundation.

If you have never heard of the event, please be sure to read about just how incredible this event is year after year (a few links to local press and media are linked below). There is truly nothing quite like it. How big is it? Just google “marathon dance” and see what result turns up first on the list. This year the marathon dancers raised over $325,000, a new record for the weekend event! The student body selected 24 recipients this year ranging from small children battling rare diseases to foundations like ours striving to help others in our community. The money raised will help each and every one of those recipients.

Two years ago, Will was a recipient at the 2009 marathon dance but passed away just a few weeks before the event. We attended the event and were completely awestruck with how impressive the entire weekend’s events unfolded. Despite the different circumstances, this year was no different. The compassion and generosity of all those involved in organizing and participating in the event truly humbles us. To see what a group of high school students are capable of doing over a two day period inspires us.

Thank you to all involved in this amazing event!

Join Team Will Power on St. Baldrick’s Day

Will’s older brothers Ben and Max will once again be shaving their heads in memory and honor of their little brother on St. Baldrick’s Day. The annual event will be held on Sunday, April 10th at Savannah’s in Albany. All money raised from the event will benefit childhood cancer, with a portion of the funds raised coming back specifically to the Melodies Center at the Children’s Hospital at Albany Medical Center.

If you would like to join Ben and Max on Team Will Power and “take a little off the top”, please visit our St. Baldrick’s team page to register. If you would like to donate to either Ben or Max’s effort, you can do so here or here.
