Last Saturday, January 17th, the Brave Will Foundation was fortunate to once again be honored at the annual Brave Will Hockey game sponsored by the Burnt Hills-Ballston Spa varsity hockey team. This is the fifth year the hockey team has supported our foundation. Their generosity and support are such a strong testament to both communities and we are humbled every year by their amazing dedication to our cause.
The team, coaches, and parents organize a school fundraiser called the “Dump and Change” collection. Students across schools in both the Burnt Hills and Ballston Spa school districts are asked throughout the week to donate loose change in collection containers throughout the school. In addition, parents of the players have collected items for raffles that are given out during the game. Once again, this year was another smashing success as the team was able to raise $1,100 in support of the children and families that our foundation supports! We were also thrilled to receive a donation from the Bethlehem hockey team, who played against the BH-BS squad that night.
This is the fifth year that we have participated in this event and have watched how its grown into such an amazing event. The players, parents, and coaches are so committed not only to our foundation but to the people who have supported them with this cause over the past five years. They recognized the various individuals before the game and presented them with a plaque made of hockey sticks, which was so unique.
Thank you to all who continue to be part of this wonderful event. We are always so proud to be part of events where we see children making efforts to help and support other children and that’s exactly what this event does each and every year.
